Increasing Representation in the Natural World

April 24 - May 21, 2021; Online Asynchronous

Engage with natural objects and outdoor environments near you through facilitated routines of observation and reflection. Use curated readings and research to highlight disproportionate access to nature, reflect on personal experiences, and plan for equitable learning opportunities in the science classroom. Please be advised that there are no “meet” dates for the course – it is all happening asynchronously. However, each “Session” of the course will be released on a certain date as outlined below:

Location Google Classroom (Online Fully Asynchronous)
Session 1 Assignments: Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 9am - Friday, April 30, 2021 at 8pm
Session 2 Assignments: Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 9am - Friday, May 7, 2021 at 8pm
Session 3 Assignments: Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 9am - Friday, May 14, 2021 at 8pm
Final Action Plan Due: Due Friday, May 21, 2021 (by midnight)

1 P credit and up to 15 CTLE hours from the New York City Department of Education are available for this course. Visit The After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP) website to apply (additional registration fees required).
