The Art of Science—Georgia O'Keeffe: Visions of Hawai'i
July 23–28, 2018
Enter a Hawaiian paradise evocative of the landscapes that inspired O'Keeffe and explore how forms found in nature can provide an inquiry-based framework for learning and art making.
Teachers seeking professional development experience the beautiful collections of the Garden during multisession institutes or customized workshops. These programs provide a six-day immersion in which participants learn how to make teaching fun through field-tested, hands-on, inquiry-based activities. Participants may earn "P" in-service credits from the New York City Department of Education or up to 175 hours for State License requirements. P-credits should be applied for first with the NYC DOE via The After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP). Then, after registering with ASPDP, you can return to NYBG to register with us.
Cost: $200 (includes curriculum materials, reproducible handouts, and plants)
Teachers interested in speaking with our professional development staff should email teachered@nybg.org or call 718.817.8140.
